We are looking for a Grant Researcher(s) to join our Strategic Partnership and Initiative Directorate to help us identify the resources needed to empower veterans, service members, and military spouses. In this role, you will be the engine of our fundraising efforts, turning data into opportunities that transform lives.
What You'll Do (Impact 3–5 Hours/Week) We offer flexibility and recognize that weekly activity may vary; however, open communication about your availability is essential to our team's success.

- Prospect Research Use databases to identify new funding sources, including private foundations and corporate giving programs that support veteran services.
- Vetting & Alignment Review funder guidelines and IRS Form 990s to ensure a high probability of a "match" with VPMMA's mission and values.
- Pipeline Management Maintain a "Living Grant Calendar" and provide a brief weekly summary of "ready-to-apply" opportunities for our writing team.
- A prioritized list of 2–4 new prospects per week.
- A concise summary for each prospect, including the deadline, average award size, and a 2–3 sentence "Why We Fit" analysis.
- Ongoing maintenance of our centralized tracking sheet within Google Workspace.
- Analytical You can look past a website's marketing to understand a foundation's actual giving patterns through its financial filings.
- Efficient You have experience (2 years preferred) navigating grant databases and synthesizing complex guidelines quickly.
- Precise Communicator You can summarize complex opportunities into actionable insights for our leadership team.
- Mission-Driven You are passionate about helping the military community navigate life shifts and achieve career greatness.
