Description

Summary: Develops and analyzes all types of credit information. Prepares complete loan packages independently, completes all analysis documents, including projections, prepares analysis and makes the appropriate recommendations. Assists with the preparation of loan packages. Assists with or completes Agricultural, Commercial and Consumer appraisal reviews. Provides input on loan quality, structure and terms and assistance to Loan Officers as needed. Serves as a review underwriter for Consumer loan packages as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs ratio, cash flow and collateral analyses as part of preparing full credit approval packages for commercial and agricultural loan requests. Make recommendations to approve or deny loan requests and provide feedback/suggestions on structure or terms.
  • Demonstrates strong independent judgment and decision-making skills to solve problems, manage priorities, and drive results with minimal supervision.
  • Completes business financial statement spreads for commercial and agricultural loans.
  • Completes financial and tax return spreads on individual borrowers and guarantors.
  • Assists in the preparation of Bank Loan Committee packets and submitting information to the Loan Committee members.
  • Assists in preparing various credit reports for the Board of Directors meetings.
  • Assists in the preparation of the Commercial RE portfolio analysis in compliance with FFEIC guidelines.
  • Verifies compliance with laws and regulations and Bank Loan Policy. Assists in the administration and enforcement of the Bank Loan Policy and Bank credit culture.
  • Accompanies loan officers on customer calls when appropriate and provides project underwriting feedback.
  • Reviews appraisal reports to determine if appraisal services are being conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with the regulatory compliance of various activities including but not limited to Appraisal Ordering and Review, HMDA Reporting, Credit Reporting or other activities as needed.
  • Collects, analyzes, and compiles market data for presentation and reporting to the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Participates in civic activities to promote growth and development of the community and a positive image of the bank.
  • Adheres to all State and Federal Banking Regulations.
  • Serves as department lead when the Senior Credit Manager is not available.
  • Serves as a Non-Voting Member of Loan Committee.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is a steppingstone to Senior Credit Manager role and may assist Senior Credit Manager as needed.

Education And/or Experience

Prefer degree in finance, accounting or business. Must have four or more years of experience in ag/commercial credit underwriting or loan review experience and have the ability to analyze Personal and Commercial/Agricultural financial information.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and comfort in general computer skills that will include commercial loan spreading or origination software.
