What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Artist position at Visionaries of Hope?
Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dynamic Teaching Artists to lead engaging workshops in one or more of our tracks — Fashion Design, Financial Literacy, Fitness/Wellness, or Entrepreneurship.
Ideal candidates are creative educators, mentors, or professionals who love inspiring youth through hands-on, project-based learning.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate in-person workshops for youth (grades 6–12) in schools or community centers.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans aligned with F3 Elevate curriculum goals and learning outcomes.
- Integrate creativity, teamwork, and leadership-building activities into sessions.
- Maintain attendance, feedback forms, and light progress documentation.
- Collaborate with site coordinators and program leads to ensure program quality and consistency.
- Represent Lifting While Climbing professionally with partners, schools, and community organizations.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching or mentoring youth in one of the following areas: Fashion Design, Sewing, Financial Literacy, Fitness, Dance, or Entrepreneurship.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to connect with diverse student populations with empathy and enthusiasm.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in education, arts, fitness, or business preferred.
- DOE fingerprint clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
