An exceptional opportunity is available for a Supply Chain Data Analyst to collaborate with a prominent Category Management division. In this role, you will synthesize complex data into actionable intelligence, driving category strategies and tracking vendor performance.
Responsibilities
- Collect, evaluate, and monitor global spend data, identifying industry trends, benchmarks, and market drivers.
- Conduct enterprise-level spend analyses and build total cost of ownership (TCO) models.
- Evaluate market entrants, non-traditional vendors, and substitute solutions to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities.
- Design strategic sourcing evaluation matrices, negotiation frameworks, and vendor KPIs/scorecards.
- Document current/future-state workflows and maintain a database of potential suppliers.
- 5 years in data analytics or category management; engineering or finance background with strong analytics.
- Advanced Excel (pivots, v-lookups) alongside BI/analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Python, Alteryx, or SQL).
- Mastery of strategic sourcing phases (RFI/RFP, supplier selection, contract negotiation), SWOT analyses, and pricing models based on market indices.
- Proven ability to build WBS and Gantt charts.
- Experience within the rail sector or advanced supply chain environments.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or Economics; SAP/S4HANA experience; PMP or Supply Chain certifications.
- Type/Location: 12 month contract (high permanent conversion potential). Hybrid, 4 days/week onsite in Midtown.
