Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Systems Engineer to join our Information Technology (IT) team. The Senior Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining their complex systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and rebuild servers, hardware, and storage according to standards, while conducting daily system monitoring to ensure data integrity and backup completion
• Serve as a Tier 2 escalation point to troubleshoot complex issues, provide detailed analyses for Tier 3 escalation, and manage incidents, problems, and change requests via ServiceNow.
• Develop and maintain installation procedures, create technical and non-technical "how-to" guides, provide training to Tier 1 support, and strictly adhere to enterprise security and change management protocols.
• Manage small-to-medium IT projects from conception to budget completion, while researching and recommending automated approaches and enhancements to optimize the enterprise environment.
  
  

This is a 6-month contract position. This role is onsite, Monday - Friday in Alpharetta.

Required Skills

• 5 years of experience as a systems engineer, with a track record of successful system implementations and administration.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with Windows Server administration, Active Directory (AD), and Group Policy management.
• Strong background managing Microsoft 365 environments, tenant administration, and cloud security protocols.
• Strong ability to write, debug, and implement custom PowerShell scripts from scratch for task automation.
• Solid understanding of virtualization platforms, enterprise backup solutions, and server hardware/storage management.
• Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, paired with clear communication and the ability to mentor junior technical staff.
