Position Summary
The Cultivation Supervisor oversees daily cultivation operations and leads cultivation staff to ensure plant health, productivity, and compliance with all company SOPs and New Jersey state regulations. This role is hands-on and requires strong leadership, cultivation expertise, and the ability to operate in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and support cultivation associates in daily activities including planting, transplanting, pruning, defoliation, trellising, and harvesting
· Ensure all cultivation activities are performed in compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and New Jersey cannabis regulations
· Monitor plant health, growth cycles, yields, and environmental conditions; identify and resolve issues related to pests, disease, or nutrient deficiencies
· Assist with crop planning, scheduling, and execution to meet production targets
· Train, mentor, and evaluate cultivation staff on cultivation techniques, sanitation, safety, and compliance requirements
· Maintain accurate cultivation records, logs, and required state documentation
· Enforce cleanliness, organization, and biosecurity standards throughout the facility
· Collaborate with cultivation management on labor planning, inventory needs, and process improvements
· Lead by example through hands-on work in cultivation rooms as needed
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support cultivation operations
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in horticulture, agriculture, biology, or a related field preferred
· Minimum of 2–3 years of cannabis cultivation, horticulture, or commercial agricultural experience required
· Prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred
· Strong working knowledge of indoor cultivation practices, plant nutrition, and environmental controls
· Demonstrated understanding of compliance in a regulated cannabis environment
· Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to work in warm, humid conditions
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Must be eligible to work in the cannabis industry under New Jersey law and pass required background checks
Schedule & Work Environment
This position is based in an indoor cultivation facility. The schedule may include weekends, holidays, or extended hours based on production and operational needs.
