Job Description: The Cultivation Technician will work with the Cultivation Team to complete the day-to-day operation of a cannabis cultivation facility.
The Cultivation Technician is responsible for completing the upkeep of growing cannabis daily tasks including: daily plant care - including watering, flushing, feeding, lighting, manicuring, pruning, washing, cloning, transplanting, and pest mitigation; overseeing plant tag creation; transfer of plants; timely harvesting of plants; movement to drying room; harvesting, trimming, grow room cleaning and maintenance.
The Cultivation Technician will maintain records and cultivation data as appropriately and accurately logged in the company’s software tracking system in compliance with Company processes and state regulations.
The Cultivation Technician responsibilities & duties are:
- Together with other Cultivation Team Members they will be responsible for the following:
- Transferring plants from smaller to larger grow containers.
- Movement of plants from one room to another at the appropriate phase.
- Day-to-day plant care, including “hands on” cultivation for both vegetative and flowering cycle.
- Watering, feeding, manicuring (de-fanning) as directed by Cultivation Lead/Manager.
- Conducting daily cleaning of grow rooms and work areas:
- Harvesting.
- Timely movement of strains out of room for cut down, de-fanning and curing.
- Trimming of cured product into final form in preparation for testing and packaging.
- Ensuring all safety measures are followed, as safety is the top priority of all GMNJ cultivation operations.
- Provide any necessary support to the Cultivation Lead/Manager to ensure cultivation duties are efficiently and timely completed in a manner consistent with the Company’s Standard Operation Procedure for each duty.
- Maintain sanitation, hygiene, physical barrier inspections and any preventative measures to be implemented.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Basic reading and writing capabilities to understand and follow written instructions.
- Active listening and effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences, are critical.
- Basic Mathematics required for inventory, projections, and measurements.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required.

- Must pass NJ CRC required background and drug screening.

Scheduling Requirements:
- Must be available to work frequent Evenings and Weekends.
- May be required to occasionally provide coverage for colleagues to always ensure proper staffing levels.
- May be required to occasionally work major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching; This position occasionally requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 100 feet.
Desired Skills and Education:
- Cannabis plant and genetics knowledge.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required.
- Prior experience working with plants and an understanding of the general principles of working in agriculture.
- Basic understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and particularly those governing cannabis, and organizational rules, directives, and Standard Operating Procedures.
