What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at VIRTUE AND NAJJAR PC?
Virtue & Najjar, PC is a growing full-service law firm serving clients throughout New Mexico and the Southwest region of the country since 1993. We have a collaborative culture and maintain an innovative team approach to solving our client’s complex legal issues. We are seeking a litigation paralegal with New Mexico civil litigation experience to support the firm’s busy litigation practice. Candidates should have excellent MS Office skills, the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, and strong attention to detail.
Job duties
- Obtain, review and analyze medical, financial, tax, and employment records, or any other relevant documents and records;
- Prepare medical record summaries and chronology reports;
- Prepare summaries of deposition transcripts and discovery responses;
- Draft basic pleadings, discovery, and routine correspondence;
- Assist with drafting and responding to discovery, as needed;
- Schedule depositions and manage calendaring system;
- Well-developed writing and research skills;
- Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Ability to stay focused on numerous details while maintaining a high level of accuracy;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a high-volume workload to meet time-critical deadlines;
- Perform administrative tasks, as needed;
- ABA Paralegal Certificate, preferred;
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, preferred.
