About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Insurance Accountant with strong expertise in both STAT and GAAP accounting to support financial reporting and compliance in the Accident & Health insurance sector. This role involves preparing NAIC filings, managing reinsurance settlements, conducting premium tax reporting, and performing detailed reconciliations and analyses.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements under STAT and GAAP
Complete NAIC quarterly and annual filings
Manage reinsurance settlement statements and premium tax filings
Perform variance, ratio, and trend analyses for management reporting
Reconcile cash and inter-company accounts; oversee bank reconciliations and ACH setup
Ensure compliance with GAAP, SAP, and regulatory requirements
Support process improvements and automation initiatives
Requirements
5 years of accounting experience (including 2 years in insurance)
Must Have: STAT and GAAP accounting expertise required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (LOMA or insurance designation a plus)
Advanced Excel skills; QuickBooks experience preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
