Refrigeration Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform maintenance services with the primary focus on refrigeration units such as Carrier and/or Thermo-King commercial refrigeration equipment designed for commercial trucks and trailers
• Be able to test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic test equipment
• Read schematics associated with the refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
• Perform duties within an efficient manner
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
• Provide additional support regarding preventative maintenance and tractor trailer maintenance as required by location management
• Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Respond to emergency after hour services from 5pm until 8am on a rotation schedule

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License (or ability to obtain one) with clean driving record
• Refrigeration Universal 609 and 608 Type 2 certification required
• Full set of own hand tools
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair transport refrigeration equipment
• Ability to plan and prioritize time to accomplish work repairs
• Ability to handle stress under pressure
• Must be detail oriented and able to work in a team environment
• Ability to work intelligently with common sense, keep work environments clean and comply with all safety regulations
• Willingness to attend additional training when needed to advance in the profession

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
