What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Virginia Poultry Growers Cooperative, Inc?
Position Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the setup, operational maintenance, equipment adjustments as needed, tear down of all machinery, blade sharpening and installation of designated equipment, and other duties as assigned in the debone department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be able to setup and operate all debone equipment
- Be able to perform checks on all equipment while operating and make necessary adjustments to ensure they are set properly to maximize yields and efficiency and meet all quality and USDA criteria
- Be able to communicate with management and maintenance on any repairs or major machine modifications that need to be made in order to keep the equipment and department running
- Be able to teardown all equipment and make decisions of whether parts need to be changed out due to wear or damage and report to management to track frequency of part change out along with reasons
- Be able to remove, sharpen, and re-install all blades that are associated with the debone equipment.
- Other duties as assigned- this is a part of a raw poultry production job rotation cycle.
