VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. Description:

$13.75 - $17.47

Core Utility Duties: Performs dishwashing, washes and stores dishes, pots, and pans; receives and stocks supplies; transports/delivers food for outside catering; plates food; and handles general cleaning tasks.

Food and Beverage Responsibilities: May prepare food and beverages, document charts/records, follow menus and recipes, manage production, distribution, inventory, and develop/maintain product specifications.

Policy Compliance: Adheres to policies on sanitation, food handling, safety, confidentiality, personal appearance, hygiene, reporting hazardous conditions/accidents, and attendance at in-service training.

Service Quality: Maintains high-quality service to residents throughout all duties.

Additional Transportation Role: May drive the catering van for daily catering services.

Based on previous experience and qualifications, the starting base rate is $13.75 - $17.47 per hour.

Work Schedule

• 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, Mon - Fri, maybe some weekends
• up to 80 hours per pay period

Requirements

• Education and Core Knowledge: High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred but not required; working knowledge of HACCP and OSHA protocols; detail-oriented with basic mathematical skills; able to read, speak, understand basic English, and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long hours, restock supplies, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Independence and Motivation: Capable of acting/intervening independently in routine/emergencies; self-motivated with limited supervision needs; able to schedule time wisely, accommodate changes, and understand/carry out oral/written assignments.
• Interpersonal Skills: Maintains positive relationships with residents and coworkers; deals tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, customer-first manner; participates in holiday activities.
• Availability and Flexibility: Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled; open to cross-training in various VMRC Dining Services duties.
