The Virginia League for Planned Parenthood is seeking a Health Center Manager for our Virginia Beach Clinic!
The Health Center Manager (HCM) provides day to day leadership to support the operations of the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood (VLPP), supervises clinical support staff and serves as an administrative supervisor for licensed staff, including clinicians.
Our HCMs lead change initiatives to ensure VLPP is compliant and able to compete in an ever-changing healthcare environment. The Health Center Manager works with the SVP of Patient Care Operations and other patient services leaders to ensure that operations, medical compliance, and financial position are compliant with established processes and protocols.
Successful candidates in this role will focus on fostering an environment that promotes a team approach to providing client-centered healthcare. 3 to 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment with 2 years working in a management or supervisory role and a high school diploma are required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include some or all of the following):
- Manage all aspects of employment for health center staff with assistance from Human Resources (HR). Responsible for staffing the center effectively by hiring, coaching, and training staff; monitor and evaluate staff in their daily performance; responsible for corrective action as needed.
- Establish and monitor patient schedules and staffing models as necessary to meet demand, ensure maximum resource utilization, and ensure appropriate coverage during clinician PTO; approve/decline PTO for staff and update schedules as needed.
- Ensure a client-centered service model by creating an environment that promotes responsive service delivery.
- Lead department efforts to achieve established goals for customer service, productivity, revenue generation and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by following through on tasks, tasking initiative, working with the team and identifying solutions.
- Hold health center staff accountable to service standards and compliance with VLPP medical, administrative and security protocols.
- Facilitate regular staff meetings to support communications, deliver training, and ensure compliance with VLPP policies and administrative processes.
- Provide ongoing feedback that recognizes, identifies, and supports when improvement is recommended and when excellence is achieved to team members regarding productivity, quality of patient care, operational assessment, customer service and teamwork.
- Participate in annual budgeting process based on established goals and objectives.
- Serve as financial steward for health center. Monitor monthly productivity goals, inventory usage and staffing to ensure successful operations and financial stability.
- Responsible for effective use of Epic Electronic Health Records system including oversight of staff usage, coordination of training, and patient flow.
- Implement health center and staff schedules to optimize staffing levels and patient flow to ensure efficient operations and excellent patient care across all health centers
- Accountable for documentation and reports that include, but are not limited to: quality assurance, equipment maintenance, new staff training files, inventory pricing and reporting, and other statistical reports as needed. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies, contraceptive supplies, and office supplies for the health center.
- Serve as a member of the Compliance Quality Risk Management (CQRM) committee to ensure high quality, effective, customer driven service delivery, following approved protocols and health center practices.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with VLPP medical protocols and administrative procedures, HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, and state pharmacy regulations. Submit audit data when assigned; ensure the health center meets agency Quality Assurance requirements.
- Assist with maintenance of facility systems, including serving as onsite contact for maintenance vendors as needed to ensure that facilities are clean, professional and functionally prepared for service delivery at all times.
- Serves as site infection prevention lead and participate in the annual review and revision of infection prevention policies and procedures; ensure facility compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal infection prevention regulations.
