To be successful in this role you must possess :
- Several years’ experience (6 preferred) in affordable housing, community development, finance, or a related field
- A degree in public administration, urban planning, community development, finance, business, or a similar area, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of affordable housing finance, programs, and the current policy landscape
- Experience with project management, policy analysis, and working across organizations or government entities
- Ability to review market and feasibility studies and assess local and regional housing conditions
- Strength in relationship-building, facilitation, negotiation, and communication (written and verbal)
- Comfort engaging with diverse communities across Virginia and approaching challenges with a problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to travel within the State, including occasional overnight stays.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with Virginia Housing’s motor vehicle and HR policies as a condition of employment.
