The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Performance Management Specialist in the Human Resources Division to manage the performance evaluation process from job descriptions to annual evaluations, provide support and training to managers related to employee performance, and research best practices in performance management to suggest strategies for improving the existing program.Responsibilities:Develop and implement performance management strategies that align with the organization’s goals and promote a culture of continuous improvementManage performance management timelines, including goal setting, performance compensation, position descriptions, and performance evaluationsMonitor and track annual position description review and evaluation processMaintain performance management software, train new users, and keep user instructions up to dateManage annual career conversationsProvide training and support to managers and employees on performance management best practices, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, and performance appraisalsDevelop content and present training sessions on topics related to performance management, career conversations, etc.Offer ongoing manager support to address performance-related issues and in implementing performance improvement plansMaintain and update career framework as neededSupport the creation and implementation of individual development plans that align with employees’ career goals and organizational needsSkills:Strong knowledge of HR performance management principles, practices, and toolsProven experience in designing and implementing performance management programsFamiliarity with competency modelsProficiency using HRIS systems and performance management software, experience with ADP Workforce Now and Lattice a plusExcellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skillsExceptional customer service skillsStrong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skillsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and program improvementsExhibit sound judgement in making decisions and maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive mattersEducation and Experience:At least 5 years of experience in performance managementCombination of training, education, or experience in human resources, organizational development, or a related fieldBeing authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
