Job Duties
- Responsible for the development, implementation, supervision and delivery of all infection surveillance, prevention and control.
- Updates infection control program including antibiotic stewardship and risk assessment and goals annually and as needed.
- Maintains infection control compliance and delivers all required training for infection control in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Reviews and assists facility with implementation of updated guidelines from the CDC, state and federal regulations.
- Licensed as an RN in the state of Virginia
- CIC Certification, or ability to attain it within 12 months of hire.
- Relevant clinical experience
- Working knowledge of the theory of practice of epidemiologic principles and infectious diseases.
- Experience supervising and evaluating patient care and staff performance
- Intermediate computer skills
- Experience working in a long term care facility
- Prior experience in Infection Control
