Your excellent attention to detail and self-starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when ship gets real. Ultimately, we won't be able to remember how we got by without you. What You'll be Up To: Maintain positive Sailor relations at all times. Assists in the day-to-day running of the Casino operation. Assists in creating and delivering an entertaining gaming atmosphere that intrigues, attracts and retains the attention of Sailors thus providing a constant flow and enhancing revenue. Monitors Dealers and Cashiers ensuring gaming and cash flow management procedures are adhered to and performed consistently as per company procedure. Responsible for monitoring both Sailors and Casino personnel to minimize the risk of security threats and fraud. Ensures all Casino personnel provide a positive first impression to every Sailor. Assists Sailor's by providing knowledge and guidance on Casino services, products and activities. Be familiar with all cruise services/features and activations to respond to Sailor inquiries accurately. Responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electric and electronic equipment in the Casino is well maintained and working properly at all times. Follows up with Technical department for repairs and notifies Casino Manager of any repairs that will significantly affect Casino revenue. Assists in preparing and implementing Casino work rotas ensuring all stations and hours of opening are fully staffed. Monitors Work and Rest hours of all Casino staff ensuring MLC guidelines are adhered to. Responsible for all Casino marketing and promotion strategies targeting the increase in volume of Sailors and revenue. Extend courteous salutations when guests leave outlet and invite them to return. Communicates any potential losses to Casino Manager on board. Refers any disputes or disagreements within their area to the Casino Manager and seeks to resolve. Assists in the development and training of Casino staff and provides mentoring and coaching to ensure a high standard of performance is maintained. Additional Responsibilities: Carries out appraisals of Direct reports in line with Virgin Voyages principles. Partakes in inspections, trainings and meetings as required by Head of Department. Ensures that the set standards are kept and staff members work according to their respective job descriptions. Adheres to all health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures. Superpowers Required: Minimum 2 years' experience as a Assistant Casino Manager in a Casino onboard a Cruise ship or a Casino ashore. Passionate about people and able to handle guest complaints with a smile! Experience on leading a diverse team. All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
