Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Flooring Installer role based in Pittsburgh, PA. The Flooring Installer will measure and prepare job sites, remove existing flooring, and install new flooring materials according to specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include cutting, fitting, and securing materials; operating installation tools and equipment; and ensuring surfaces are level, clean, and ready for installation. The role also involves loading and unloading materials, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and collaborating with team members to complete projects on time and to quality standards. Flooring Installers will interact professionally with customers on-site, address basic questions, and represent Virgin Carpets and Flooring’s commitment to excellent workmanship and service.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with general Flooring installation across residential and/or commercial projects.
- Proficiency working with Hardwood and Hardwood Flooring, including cutting, fitting, and finishing.
- Skilled in installing Carpet, including measuring, stretching, and seam work.
- Experience with Ceramic flooring or tile installation, including proper substrate preparation and layout.
- Ability to read measurements, follow installation plans, and use hand and power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.
- Previous flooring, carpentry, or construction experience preferred; willingness to learn and follow company standards is essential.
