Duties
- Process and verify a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions, perform journal entries, and maintain detailed records in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage data entry tasks related to accounts payable, including coding invoices and entering payment information into systems like Workday, SAP, or Oracle.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or payment issues promptly.
- Prepare and review accounts payable reports, perform account reconciliations, and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by maintaining proper documentation and audit trails.
- Assist in processing employee benefits administration and payroll management through systems such as ADP, UltiPro, or Paychex when applicable.
Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with HRIS systems like Ceridian or Kronos is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial concepts related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting.
- Familiarity with tax regulations, audit procedures, and compliance standards including SOX controls.
- Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and financial data review.
- High level of accuracy in data entry (10 key typing skills) and attention to detail for journal entries and bookkeeping tasks.
