What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Vinton Veterinary Hospital?
Vinton Veterinary Hospital is growing and looking for Veterinary Assistant Staff. The veterinary assistant is the entire team's primary support. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care. Job duties include: Assist with patient care and treatment, monitor hospitalized pets / monitor/aid in caring for animals after surgery, maintain inventory and stocking, Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims, aid with routine diagnostic tests (i.e. Taking radiographs, running bloodwork, reading fecal), maintain & sterilize surgical instruments/equipment, clean/disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital, administer medications under Veterinarian/Vet Tech supervision, help clients with their pets, fill medications under the direction of Veterinarians, other duties as assigned.
Reliable transportation, including transportation in inclement weather, as well as a willingness to learn veterinary medicine terms and processes a must. Individual must be willing to contribute to the hospital's positive culture and attitude of teamwork. Candidates may apply through Indeed.
The base hourly wage for this position ranges from $14.00-18.00 based on factors including experience, job-related skills and relevant education and/or training.
