What You’ll Do As a Veterinary Assistant

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
• Perform catheter placement and assist with diagnostic lab work
• Monitor patient vitals, behavior, and comfort, and communicate changes promptly
• Maintain a clean, organized, decluttered clinic environment
• Safely handle and restrain animals during exams, treatments and procedures
• Educate pet owners on care, medication administration, and veterinarian recommendations
• Support the team with essential administrative tasks that keep the day running smoothly
  
  
  

What You Bring

• Experience in a veterinary clinic or similar setting is preferred
• Familiarity with animal physiology and handling techniques—especially small animals and/or exotics—is a plus (and can be taught on the job)
• A teachable spirit, strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for organization and cleanliness
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and teammates with empathy and clarity
• The ability to multitask and stay grounded during emergencies, emotional moments, and the unpredictable nature of animals
• Experience with dog behavior, training, handling, or administering medications is helpful
