What are the responsibilities and job description for the Catering Kitchen & Production Manager position at Vintage Views Bar?
About Vintage Views Bar
Vintage Views Bar is a growing mobile beverage and catering company serving weddings, corporate events, museums, and iconic venues throughout the Washington, DC region, including the Smithsonian National Zoo and U.S. Botanic Garden.
We're known for creating memorable beverage experiences through our mobile bars, coffee trailers, and handcrafted cocktails. As our catering business continues to grow, we're looking for a Kitchen & Production Manager to lead our commissary kitchen and help take our food and beverage production to the next level.
This is not a traditional restaurant kitchen.
Our production kitchen prepares everything from grazing tables and apps to fresh-pressed juices, house-made syrups, cocktail batches, and kegged beverages that support hundreds of events each year.
If you're highly organized, enjoy leading a team, and thrive in a fast-paced production environment, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
As Kitchen & Production Manager, you'll oversee the daily operation of our production kitchen and ensure every event leaves fully prepared.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead all daily kitchen and commissary production
- Oversee preparation of grazing tables, appetizers, and catered menu items
- Manage production of fresh-pressed juices, house-made syrups, cocktail batching, and kegged beverages
- Create weekly production schedules based on event needs
- Train, coach, schedule, and lead kitchen staff
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships
- Monitor food costs and minimize waste
- Maintain recipes, prep guides, and production standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health department regulations
- Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and operating efficiently
- Coordinate closely with our Operations and Event teams to ensure every event is fully prepared
- Continuously improve systems, processes, and workflow as our company grows
