Position Overview

We are seeking After-School Educators to lead or assist engaging, in-person enrichment classes. Educators create a safe, inclusive, and energetic environment while delivering hands-on lessons using provided curriculum.

This role is ideal for teachers, paraprofessionals, after-school staff, college students, artists, and individuals passionate about working with children.

Tuesdays - 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM

Position Details

• Interviews and training are conducted remotely
• All classes are held in person

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or assist engaging, hands-on enrichment lessons using VAC-provided curriculum
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Supervise students and ensure safety at all times
• Manage classroom behavior using positive, age-appropriate strategies
• Prepare materials, set up activities, and assist with cleanup
• Communicate professionally with school staff and VAC leadership
• Complete required training, paperwork, and background check
• Represent VAC Enrichment with professionalism, enthusiasm, and reliability
• Follow all school and program safety procedures

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (education, childcare, camps, or coaching)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage small groups of students
• Creative, patient, dependable, and adaptable
• Comfortable following structured curriculum while making lessons engaging
• Must pass a background check
• Must have U.S. work authorization

Additional Requirements

• Reliable transportation to assigned school
• Ability to actively engage in a classroom setting (standing, walking, etc.)
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs

Preferred (Not Required)

Staffing Notes

We are hiring both Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers for this program. Compensation varies by role and is paid per class.

Pay: $55.00 per hour
