VinePair is looking for a motivated Editorial Assistant to join our editorial team. We’re interested in someone who is excited about working in a start-up environment, resourceful, and eager to gain experience in digital media and publishing. If this is you — plus you’re genuinely interested in the world of drinks, travel, food, and lifestyle — and you consider yourself a go-getter, we should talk. Salary commensurate with experience, plus health and vision.
This position is responsible for supporting our editorial team across projects, including but not limited to: writing, researching, and reporting; content production; wine, beer, and spirits tastings; and social content creation.
We are looking for a candidate who’s a hard worker with a can-do attitude and a knack for generating endless ideas. The ideal person is passionate about VinePair’s mission, “Drinking is Culture,” and will contribute their creativity to continue to grow this dynamic publication.
Job Requirements Include
- Regularly generate ideas and contribute to editorial projects and programming
- Daily editorial article production in CMS (WordPress)
- Pitch, research, report, and write supporting articles on a variety of topics (5/week)
- Pitch and write daily ‘booze news’ coverage (2-4/day)
- Support our tastings program: open, catalog, and organize bottles and product submissions
- Support our podcast network: write and build weekly podcast articles; help with guest research and outreach across shows; brainstorm conversation ideas
Qualifications
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
- Passion for journalism, not just book-report writing
- Relevant internship or professional experience a plus
- Willingness to learn about all aspects of a growing digital media company
Additional requirements
- Must be able to work 4 days a week in our NYC offices
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must love dogs (our offices are dog friendly!)

Salary range: $45-000 - $50,000
