Nature of Role & Responsibilities
The Bundschu Company Private Events Wine Educator serves as a warm and knowledgeable ambassador of the Bundschu Co. brand, delivering exceptional hospitality experiences for private event guests at both Gundlach Bundschu and Abbot’s Passage properties. This role is responsible for hosting private tastings, tours, and special event groups while ensuring each guest experience is welcoming, organized, and memorable from start to finish.
The ideal candidate thrives in a guest-facing environment, enjoys connecting with people through wine and hospitality, and takes pride in creating polished, seamless experiences. This role supports event setup and breakdown, maintains event spaces, and works collaboratively with the hospitality and events teams to execute successful private events. A flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings, is required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Private Event Hosting & Hospitality
- Host private tastings, tours, VIP experiences, wedding groups, and corporate events at Gundlach Bundschu and Abbot’s Passage
- Deliver exceptional hospitality while acting as a knowledgeable and engaging brand ambassador for Bundschu Co.
- Educate guests on winery history, wines, farming practices, and hospitality offerings
- Provide elevated customer service and anticipate guest needs throughout the event experience
- Support achievement of departmental sales goals, wine club sign-ups, and guest data collection initiatives
Event Setup & Breakdown
- Assist with event setup and cleanup before and after private events
- Prepare tasting spaces, tables, wine service stations, menus, and event materials
- Support culinary vendor coordination and general event readiness
- Assist with opening and closing hospitality spaces as needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked event and tasting areas
Guest Service & Administrative Support
- Respond professionally and promptly to guest questions and inquiries during events
- Utilize reservation and POS systems including Tock, Tripleseat, and AMS
- Support guest check-in, wine purchases, and club sign-up processes
- Assist with maintaining accurate customer information and event details within POS systems
- Collaborate with hospitality, culinary, facilities, and events teams to ensure smooth event execution
- Support additional departmental tasks and special projects as assigned

Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 years of hospitality or customer-facing experience preferred
- Wine industry or restaurant experience preferred
- Strong interest in wine, hospitality, and guest experience
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Ability to quickly learn POS and reservation systems including AMS, Tock, and Tripleseat
- Professional communication style and polished appearance
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Access to reliable transportation between winery properties as needed
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and scheduled events
- Regular work requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and stretching
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to work at both Gundlach Bundschu and Abbot’s Passage Winery locations as needed
