Vincennes University is seeking qualified applicants for the Clerk Typist II – Admissions Application Processor position. This is a full-time support staff position located at the Vincennes Campus and supports the operations of the Registrar’s Office by assisting students, faculty, and staff with maintenance and implementation of student records and data systems.
Primary Function/Description:
The Clerk Typist II – Admissions Application Processor manages the quality control of admissions application and student data, including high school and college transcripts, test scores, name changes, supplemental admissions documents, addresses, declared majors, and other biographical information for new and returning students. This work is performed using University systems such as SLATE and Banner.
- Process and assist with all aspects of the Admissions application workflow.
- Enter, validate and update student records in University systems.
- Prepare correspondence, answer phones, and perform general clerical duties.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the University Catalog, academic policies, and FERPA guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge of University Systems and resources.
- Assist with research and correction of duplicate student IDs.
- Participate in regular office and small group meetings.
- Work occasional overtime in the evening and on weekends as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and the ability to operate general office equipment.
- Familiarity with Banner is preferred, ability to become proficient in University systems is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Dependable, organized, team-oriented, flexible, detail-focused.
- Ability to multitask effectively and maintain confidentiality of student academic records.
Education, Experience, Licensure:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a professional office environment is required; experience in higher education is preferred.
Physical Demands:
This position requires good hearing, vision, and manual dexterity for general office tasks, including typing, filing, answering telephones, and writing. The role also requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods and may occasionally require lifting and moving heavy boxes.
