Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer (Application) to drive quality across our application stack. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust testing strategies to ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable software systems.
You will work closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to build automated test frameworks, improve release confidence, and champion quality best practices across the SDLC—while leveraging modern AI tools to enhance productivity and test effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the design and implementation of test strategies for complex web applications and services
· Develop and maintain automated test frameworks (UI, API, integration, and regression)
· Perform browser-based testing across multiple environments ensuring cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness
· Design and execute API testing strategies for both REST and SOAP services
· Write and optimize complex SQL queries to validate backend data and ensure data integrity
· Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate test creation, improve defect detection, and optimize test coverage
· Collaborate with developers and product managers to define acceptance criteria and test coverage
· Perform functional, regression, performance, and exploratory testing
· Drive shift-left testing practices and continuous quality improvement
· Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and reliable releases
· Identify, document, and track defects; ensure timely resolution
· Mentor junior QA engineers and promote quality engineering best practices
· Participate in architecture and design reviews to ensure testability and scalability
· Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
· 5 years of experience in software quality engineering or QA automation
· Strong experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, WebDriverIO, Playwright, or similar)
· Hands-on experience with browser testing and debugging tools
· Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries and data validation
· Proven experience testing REST and SOAP APIs
· Experience using AI/ML-based tools or generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, test generation tools) to improve engineering or QA outcomes
· Ability to identify opportunities where AI can improve test efficiency, coverage, and defect detection
· Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
· Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
· Experience with CI/CD tools
· Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
· Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in healthcare or insurance domain (especially ACA marketplaces)
· Knowledge of performance testing tools
· Experience with BDD frameworks
· Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems
· Exposure to containerization tools
· Experience implementing AI-driven test automation or quality analytics solutions
