Description:

Ville Property Management provides affordable, low-barrier housing in an effort to help house some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We currently operate seven converted apartment complexes across Utah, providing 250 affordable apartments, and work closely with community partners to provide housing opportunities for individuals that have previously experienced homelessness and receive rental assistance. We believe that housing is a human right and our goal is to sustainably serve our community with affordable, low-barrier housing, and support tenant housing stability through case management services.

Ville Property Management is looking for individuals that have a similar commitment to serving our community. We are seeking a Property Manager to help provide compassion and assistance for individuals that have experienced homelessness or are at risk of experiencing homelessness to our Salt Lake County residents.

Position Status: Full – Time, flexible hours

Pay Rate: $20.00/hour starting wage, depending on experience

Location: Salt Lake County

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with some possible events after hours and on weekends

Job Responsibilities:

  • This position will oversee the Property Management program for our Ville 9 and Ville 35 properties, in an effort to provide housing stability to our tenants
  • Collaborate with Case Management and Maintenance staff
  • Provide administrative oversight for Ville Property Management's programming and ensure the highest level of adherence
  • Ensure that administrative processes (leases, vacancies, move-ins/outs, delinquencies/rent roll, lease violations and payment plans) are up to date and monitored weekly
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partner agencies and tenant’s Housing Case Management teams
  • Proactively engage in problem solving and programmatic change
  • Be aware of process inefficiencies and engage in quality improvement
  • When needed, provide individual services to guests and residents. This includes crisis intervention, problem solving, and coordination with partner agencies and community resources.
  • Work as part of a team that strives to serve and protect individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk for experiencing homelessness in our community

Required Education and Experience:

  • Two years experience working in property management with a working knowledge of leasing processes, managing tenant payments and delinquencies, move-in and move-out procedures, and working as a part of a dynamic team
  • Experience working with diverse populations, experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness is preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; a combination of related experience and education may be substituted.

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent customer service skills and demonstrates awareness and desire to understand diverse and vulnerable populations
  • Interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress
  • Ability to contribute to the Agency’s commitment to enhancing awareness and appreciation
  • Ability to set and maintain good boundaries, using Trauma-Informed Care as a guideline
  • Understand when to refer individuals or situations to medical, social, or supervisory resources
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Creativeness in problem-solving
  • Willingness to accept supervision, direction, and constructive feedback
  • Willing to be a proactive member of a team
  • Understanding of the Housing First philosophy and a willingness to have clear and compassionate conversations with guests about housing
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for at least an hour or more
  • Ability and license to drive a vehicle, personal vehicle preferred
