Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach

Villanova Preparatory School (Villanova), is a distinguished co-educational, college preparatory school in beautiful Ojai, California. Founded by Augustinian Friars and ranked as one of the best Catholic schools in America, Villanova was visited several times by Pope Leo XIV when he was head of the worldwide Order of Saint Augustine. Serving boarding and day students in grades six through twelve, Villanova offers a rigorous education rooted in a rich intellectual tradition that dates back to the founding of the Augustinians in 1244. Surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest and 30 miles east of Santa Barbara, Villanova is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Villanova Prep seeks a volleyball coach to lead the girls program. All coaches are part of the Villanova Wildcat athletics team working with, and in support of the Athletics Department. Varsity head coaches run a year-round program adhering to California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) rules.

Major Areas Of Responsibility

• Planning and conducting practices preparing student-athletes for competition
• Develop and support fundraising initiatives including clinics and summer camps
• Ensure the safety of all participants enforcing safety protocols
• Coordinate schedules, facilities use, and transportation with the athletic director to meet program needs
• Assist in the recruiting, selection, and retention of assistant coaches
• Communicating with student-athletes, parents and families, school administration, teachers, and staff regarding expectations, schedules, and athletic program policies
• Commitment to modeling the values of Catholic education and Villanova’s Augustinian mission
• Promoting our top athletes for collegiate opportunities
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Prior volleyball coaching experience and related competence
• Ability to work well with high school students and the Athletic Department team
• Current, CPR, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• After selection coaches must pass a background check, fingerprinting and complete CIF and Archdiocesan requirements.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous high school or club volleyball coaching experience
• Experience working in a Catholic high school environment
  
  

The wage range is $5,000 - $10,000 depending on experience and number of seasons coaching.
