Job Summary:
Proof Kitchen & Bar is looking for a Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with basic cooking tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate has a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Chop, slice, and dice vegetables, meats, and other ingredients as needed.
- Assist chefs with basic cooking and food preparation tasks.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, storage, and workstations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist in stocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations.
- Support line cooks and other kitchen staff as needed.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures as directed by the kitchen leadership team.
Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in a professional kitchen (preferred but not required).
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
