Villagio Hospitality Group is growing! We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Guest Assistant to join our award-winning team at The Black Sheep Restaurant. The Guests Assistant supports the dining experience by ensuring tables are clean, organized, and properly set, and by assisting servers with food delivery and clearing tables. This role is vital to maintaining a smooth flow of service and enhancing the guest experience. Ideal candidates are quick, attentive, and proactive, providing seamless assistance to the front-of-house team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Manager on Duty with the smooth operation of the accommodation and guest service functions
- Ensure that all guests receive a warm welcome, friendly and memorable welcome
- Work closely with Host staff and the front of house team regarding guest requirements to ensure that all guests’ needs and expectations are met
- Ensure that all guest enquiries and complaints, whether in person, on the telephone or via email, are dealt with in a friendly and professional manner, always ensuring guest satisfaction. Where appropriate ensure that comments and complaints are reported to management.
- Ensure that the front of house and guest areas are well always maintained
- Assist with the co-ordination and delivery of dining, events and food & beverage service
- Perform any other duties as directed by Manager on Duty or other member of the management team
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality and an ability to interact with people at all levels
- Ability to take initiative and a practical approach to problem solving
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest service
- Courteous and pleasant attitude towards guests and colleagues
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and juggle competing priorities in a busy, fast paced and challenging environment with minimum supervision
- Positive and flexible approach to work
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Prior cashier or customer service experience preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
- Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs and moving quickly in a dynamic environment
