The Dish Machine Operator (Porter) is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the facility to maintain our culture of high standards and enhance the guest experience. The Porter plays a crucial role in supporting our catering kitchen staff by ensuring equipment, tools, and workspaces are clean and ready for use, as well as assisting with general maintenance tasks.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Washing dishes, cutlery, and cooking utensils to ensure a constant supply for the kitchen staff
- Cleaning work surfaces, equipment, and the general kitchen area to maintain hygiene standards
- Regularly empty trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal
- Unload and organize deliveries, storing ingredients and supplies in appropriate areas.
- Assist in keeping storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers organized and clean
- Some light prep may be required
- Help set up and break down event areas.
- Transport and organize supplies for off-site catering events (if necessary).
- Respond promptly to requests for assistance during service periods
- Adhere to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or janitorial role is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers effectively
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- High School or equivalent. Coursework in restaurant preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical demands for this position are stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves on an ongoing basis during working hours within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
