Villages in Partnership (VIP), an independent faith based non-profit corporation based in Allentown, NJ, who are working to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people living in the remote villages of Malawi, Africa. Malawi is one of the world’s most deeply impoverished countries. It is located in sub-Saharan Africa. Our method is to work with local development experts in Malawi to implement programs designed to simultaneously address the root causes of extreme poverty: lack of access to clean water, food insecurity, poor health care, inadequate education, insufficient infrastructure, and lack of economic opportunities. Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Allentown, NJ. The position is responsible for VIP’s marketing campaigns including managing all social media platforms, developing and executing the communication strategy, and creating branding materials (video, print, and electronic) to support all development activities. This individual is responsible for the planning and execution of all events.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute a comprehensive communication and marketing strategy, that utilizes a variety of platforms including social media, webpage, zoom meetings, written letters, e-newsletters, posters, brochures, blogs, and in-person meetings.
- Responsible for the planning, organizing, and execution of all fundraising events and other special events
- Works closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to implement new development campaigns while maintaining current programs
- Responsible for development of the Annual Report including liaising with print/production consultants.
- Generate updates and communications to donors such as church partners and monthly donors, including managing and overseeing gift acknowledgements per stewardship plan.
- Develop Google Slides/PowerPoint presentations and video content as required.
- Maintain/organize photo and video libraries. Including uploading and categorizing content.
- Support the Communications & Administrative Assistant with the nurturing and growth of VIP’s volunteer community.
- Plan and execute trip participant recruitment and communications and liaise with other staff regarding logistics for the trips
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preference for marketing degree)
- 1-3 years of marketing experience preferable with a focus on fundraising for nonprofits
- Excellent experience in content creation for all platforms (printed, electronic, social media)
- Competence in video creation and editing
- Excellent organizational and ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
- Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends to support meetings and VIP events
- Strong Google Workspace and Mac OS skills including Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Adobe Creative Suite and exposure to CRM tools such as Bloomerang or a similar donor-based technology
- Strong experience utilizing Social Media and interfacing with Web pages
- Cultural Sensitivity - A willingness to learn about the culture of Malawi
