The Company began in 1980 and has since expanded into professional entertainment trucking as well, providing nationwide event logistics, tour trucking, trade show shipping, and general freight. 

We are in search of a Full-Time Dispatcher for our Village Transport Division responsible for dispatching trucks and drivers out of our brand-new state of the art facility in Oklahoma City, OK! The Dispatcher must be quick to respond to an ever-changing environment while maintaining composure under pressure.

Position Summary:

This position is Full Time, on site in the office Mon - Fri 7am - 4pm. Some after-hours calls may occur on limited occasions. 

Starting at $22 - 24/hr based on experience. 

Dispatcher Duties/Responsibilities:

• Monitor operators and trip status from start to completion, making changes and reassignments as necessary to ensure on time and safe arrivals/departures.
• Assign drivers in accordance with company expectations, policies and procedures adhering to hours-of-service regulations.
• Provide drivers with complete and accurate trip information per company expectations.
• Reschedule trips as needed while remaining calm in stressful situations.
• Actively search for and book loads on load boards, negotiate rates with brokers and shippers as well as build efficient profitable load plans.
• Communicate professionally with drivers, brokers and internal staff to resolve issues quickly regarding scheduling or misc. matters.
• Maintain excellent customer service skills.
• Manage multiple tasks at one-time in an effective manner.
• Answering both emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and assisting as needed.
• Exhibit a sense of urgency and effectively assign drivers to trips in advance.
• Possess operational understanding of Coach Manager and how it pertains to dispatch.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have prior experience with load planning and freight sourcing.
• Must have experience with Hours-of-Service requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Analytical thinking skills to access situations.
• Proficient in computer technology, Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous dispatch experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations preferred.
• Class A license with air brake and passenger endorsement preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, bend and sit. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds.
