About the Role:

The Director of Deli & Prepared Foods is a senior leader responsible for driving strategy, performance, and execution across multiple locations. This role partners closely with Merchandising and Operations to deliver strong financial results, consistent standards, and a best-in-class customer experience while building and developing field leadership teams.

What You’ll Do:

Lead People and Build Capability:

• Develop and mentor a team of merchandising, culinary, and operations leaders.
• Build a strong leadership pipeline across deli and prepared foods teams.
• Create a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence.

Drive Operational Execution:

• Ensure consistent execution of deli and prepared foods programs across all stores.
• Partner with operations leadership to deliver strong service standards and food quality.
• Lead field support and store-level performance improvement initiatives.

Deliver Growth in Prepared Foods:

• Drive sales growth and margin improvement across deli and prepared foods categories.
• Partner with culinary and merchandising teams to launch new products and menu programs.
• Balance innovation with operational scalability.

Partner Across the Organization:

Work cross-functionally with:

• merchandising
• culinary innovation
• store operations
• supply chain
• marketing

to deliver compelling food experiences for customers.

What We’re Looking For:

Leadership Experience

• Proven experience leading teams across multi-unit retail or foodservice environments
• Track record of building strong teams and developing leaders

Operational Excellence

• Strong understanding of prepared foods, deli, or foodservice operations
• Ability to drive consistent execution across multiple locations

Strategic Thinking

• Experience improving sales, margin, and customer experience in food categories

Ideal Background:

Candidates may come from leadership roles in:

• grocery prepared foods
• deli merchandising
• foodservice operations
• multi-unit restaurant leadership

Experience with companies known for strong prepared foods programs—such as Wegmans Food Markets or Whole Foods Market—is highly valued.

Base Salary Range: $204,000 - $229,000
