What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Operator position at Village of Romeo Wastewater Plant?
The Village of Romeo in Macomb County Michigan is currently seeking job applicants for an Operators Position at it’s Wastewater treatment Facility. This is a 2 MGD Treatment facility servicing Romeo and Bruce Township. The starting wage is $18.89 per hour increasing to $23.62 after 3 years. Additionally, Operators with State of Michigan Wastewater Licenses are paid and extra .75 Cents per hour per license up to the class “B” license. A full Benefits package is included. The requirements are listed below.
- 1) Operates sewage treatment, Biosolids processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage: Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage.
- 2) Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and tests results to determine load requirements.
- 3) Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.
- 4) Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings, Take daily readings throughout the plant and use Intermediate Algebra .
- 5) Run a Wastewater Lab, be qualified to run CBOD5, Suspended Solids, Total Solids, Phosphorus, Ammonia, Chlorine Residual, Fecal Coliform tests, run and maintain QA/QC testing and log results and complete formulas using Intermediate Algebra.
- 6) complete both scheduled and unscheduled Maintenance on various types of equipment including: Pumps, Motors, Controllers, electric and electronic panels and read blue prints and drawings accurately.
