The Village of Orland Park's Parks & Grounds department maintains over 600 acres of park space to meet the needs of residents and visitors of all ages including maintaining 60 village parks, over 30 miles of trails, 139 athletic fields/courts, and approximately 300 acres of open space acquired through the Village Open Lands of Orland Park program.
Key Responsibilities
This is a working supervisory position. The Parks & Grounds department is seeking responsible, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals to join the evening and weekend field crews as Complex Supervisor. This position will lead a crew of 8-10 complex attendants to oversee the field maintenance operations at Humphrey and Centennial fields to adequately and timely maintain the sports fields ensuring a positive experience for all field and game operations. Duties include general maintenance tasks at our outdoor facilities and athletic fields as well as completing or ensuring completion of custodial tasks including cleaning restrooms and removing trash and providing information/directions to participants.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
A high school diploma is required. A valid Class ‘D’ Driver’s License and a minimum of three (3) years related ball field and/or field maintenance experience is preferred. Prior supervisory experience is also preferred. Ability to work independently, complete tasks in a timely manner and give instructions to others is must.
This position is generally scheduled evenings and weekends approximately 20-29 hours per week. Must have flexible availability Monday – Thursday evenings beginning at 4:00pm. Must have open weekend availability including Friday evenings from 4:00pm-close, Saturday for morning, afternoon, or evening shift, AND Sunday for morning, afternoon, or evening shift. This work is primarily performed outdoors, and hours will be adjusted by management during inclement weather.
Compensation & Benefits
This position is generally scheduled between 20-29 per week and is eligible for IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) benefits.
Hourly rate of pay: $17.03 - $22.96
