Purpose of Position
The Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for managing the Cottage Grove TV programming/recording as well as other digital video/marketing tools
Position Accountability
General day-to-day supervision, administrative direction, and performance evaluation shall be received from the Assistant Administrator/Human Resources Manager.
Supervision Exercised
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.The following provides an overview of duties related to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Films, records, and broadcasts public meetings for the Village and any other Cottage Grove related programing as assigned.
- May be asked to create videos or marketing tools needed by the Village departments.
- Provides input in the development of communications plans and strategies and is responsible for implementation of such plan and strategies.
- Attends all Village Board, Plan Commission, and other Village meetings as assigned, including all hybrid committee meetings.
- Trains and supervises assistants and volunteers in video production or Cottage Grove Community Cable Channel. Training involves the use of camcorders and studio equipment, camera setup and procedures, maintenance of all equipment, etc.
- Responsible for reviewing and timing all programs to be aired.
- Responsible for the scheduling and airing of all programs.
- Responsible for updating the character generator.
- Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment.
- Produces photographic and video content, including coordinating services through vendors.
- Supports internal and operational communication needs through the production of materials, communication strategies, editing/review of materials, and similar deliverables.
- Advises on the annual budget.
- Advises on development of new programming and public service announcements.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of Cable TV production
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Products
- Knowledge of the use of cable and studio equipment
- Knowledge of effective training of assistants and volunteers
- Ability to motivate and supervise assistants and volunteers
- Ability to present oneself in a professional manner and to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in written.
- Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.

The work will primarily be at Village Hall, but the employee may be required to work in a variety of environments on occasion both inside and
outdoors throughout the community including construction and field job sites. Noise level varies depending on equipment and location.
Hours of Work
This position primarily works during meetings that take place in the evening hours after 4:30 p.m. equaling approximately 7-10 hours bi-weekly. Occasionally, the employee may be asked to attend an event or meeting during the day between regular Village Hall office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday or 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.
