Duties
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials, components, and finished products to support municipal operations and processes
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments with precision to assist in mechanical assembly and fabrication tasks
- Use municipal equipment adhering strictly to safety protocols
- Interpret technical drawings, documents, and process instructions to ensure accurate operations
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to uphold safety standards in accordance with safety protocols in municipal environments
- Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions aligned with municipal principles
Requirements
- Municipal experience is preferred, but not required
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and other documents accurately
- Strong understanding of safety standards and commitment to adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Excellent manual handling skills for heavy lifting tasks along with physical stamina for long shifts in a fast-paced environment
