Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote dignity and independence
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained and report any concerns promptly
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to meet nutritional needs and encourage social interaction during mealtimes
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility support for residents with limited strength or mobility
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
- Drive residents when necessary for appointments or outings in compliance with safety standards and licensing requirements
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of assisted living practices, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care techniques
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personal support is advantageous
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation of resident care activities
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or behavior management are a plus
- Long-term care experience or group home experience will strengthen your application
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassion and professionalism
