Job Summary

The Campus Aide Substitute provides supervision and support to students before and/or after school, during recess, and at lunch on an as-needed basis. This position prioritizes student safety, positive behavior support, and the overall well-being of each child while maintaining a Christ-centered campus environment. The Campus Aide Substitute assists in maintaining order, enforcing school policies, and supporting classroom teachers and administrators to ensure a safe, respectful, and structured school day aligned with the mission of Village Christian School.

Requirements / Qualifications

A High School Diploma is required. Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school or church setting is preferred. Current First Aid/CPR certification is preferred (or must be obtained as required). Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, the ability to supervise multiple students simultaneously, and a commitment to modeling Christian character. The ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency or high-pressure situations is essential.

Additional documentation such as TB clearance and a signed faith statement may be required in accordance with school policy and state regulations.

The Campus Aide Substitute monitors student behavior during assigned supervision times; enforces school policies and procedures; conducts safety checks of playground and lunch areas; corrects improper behavior and reports major infractions to appropriate staff; supports classroom teachers as needed; communicates student concerns to teachers and administrators; maintains confidentiality of student information; and performs additional duties as assigned. The role requires flexibility, attentiveness, strong interpersonal skills, and alignment with the mission and values of Village Christian School. This is a part-time, non-exempt substitute position. Hours will vary throughout the school year based on campus needs. Compensation is $17.87 per hour. This position reports directly to the Elementary Assistant Principal.
