The Passport to Summer Program is seeking a responsible, energetic, and safety-focused Lifeguard to support our summer programming. This role is essential in providing a safe, fun, and welcoming aquatic environment for students participating in summer activities.
The Lifeguard is responsible for actively supervising the pool area, enforcing safety rules, responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, and ensuring all students feel supported and confident while participating in swim activities. This position works closely with summer program staff to promote a positive experience rooted in safety, respect, and community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas
- Enforce pool rules and safety procedures consistently
- Respond promptly to emergencies and administer first aid or CPR as needed
- Ensure proper use and storage of pool equipment
- Communicate clearly with students and staff to support a safe, inclusive environment
- Complete required safety checks and documentation
Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguard Certification, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification required
- Ability to remain alert, calm, and decisive in emergency situations
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
