A Day in the Role
Your shift begins on the shop floor in a collaborative, cell-based production environment. You'll review blueprints or use your product knowledge to position parts, assemble metal components such as pipe nipples that integrate with valves and devices, and apply the correct torque with wrenches and pipe compound. Throughout the shift, you'll verify seals, test trimmed and pre-trimmed valves and devices to approval laboratory guidelines, inspect, package, and, when required, disassemble pre-trimmed valves per work orders—capturing scrap/salvage details for inventory. You wrap up by ensuring everything meets Viking's quality standards.
Work Schedule: 3 pm - 11 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Position components using blueprints or product knowledge to build complete units.
- Join parts with wrenches and pipe thread compound, applying specified torque.
- Inspect components to confirm quality and a reliable seal between parts.
- Test trimmed and pre-trimmed valves/devices per approval laboratory guidelines.
- Inspect and package trimmed valves to Viking quality standards.
- Disassemble pre-trimmed valves and package per work order instructions.
- Identify, segregate, and record scrap and salvage for inventory control.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
