This role will be responsible for developing and refining 2D drawings and 3D models for all products and components within the Viking fire protection product lines, ensuring accuracy and adhering to company standards.
CAD TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of drafting principles and best practices, utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD to produce high-quality designs.
- Ensure adherence to the company's CAD standards, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Create precise 2D drawings and 3D models based on written and verbal specifications from engineering teams.
- Apply appropriate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in compliance with project requirements.
- Organize and maintain all drawings, models, and related documents generated through the engineering change system.
- Utilize the product data management (PDM) system to safeguard file integrity and revision control engineering files.
- Complete assigned tasks within established deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Provide support to other departments by creating various electronic files, such as PDFs and STEP files.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by department leadership.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
CAD TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in relevant field or 2 years professional experience.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in Solidworks, Solidworks PDM, or a demonstrated proficiency commensurate with the position.
- Familiar with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009.
