What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESTIMATOR/PROJECT MANAGER position at Viking Fence Company, LTD?
Key Duties & Responsibilities
· Responsible for sourcing new customer opportunities.
· Responsible for building relationships with new customers and General Contractor's while maintaining a customer base of at least 5 customers.
· Responsible for estimating project cost, bid submission, customer service and executing pricing strategy with leadership.
· Review specifications and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, and analyze project requirements to ensure proposals capture all scope of work.
· Coordinate and respond to Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) submittals, change orders, and other standard project requirements.
· Maintain bid log and submit associated reports.
· Responsible for sourcing and managing a team of installers to ensure projects are built to our high-quality standard, on-time and on budget to safety standards.
· Develop project schedule, equipment plan, and staging plan for each project.
· Work with internal invoicing and collections team to ensure projects are invoiced and collected in a timely fashion.
· Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction.
· Required to attend sales meetings.
· Help negotiate subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders by working with internal Supply Chain team.
· Manage project submittals, schedule, and budget to achieve maximum profitability.
· Follow up on post bid projects.
· Complete special projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· 3 plus years of commercial construction management experience required.
· 3 plus years of sales experience required.
· Bachelor’s degree in business or construction Management a plus.
· Commercial construction estimating experience required, must be familiar with entire process (pre-bid, RFI, post bid, contracting, submittals, change orders, punch list, substantial completion requirements).
· Must possess knowledge of construction plan reading.
· Must have the ability to access, navigate and submit bids through plan rooms.
· Highly developed communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization skills a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive).
· Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
· Must have valid DL and clean driving record.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Travel requirements throughout central Texas and surrounding areas.
· Ability to visit and move about construction job sites.
