Role Description The Staff Accountant is a part time, hybrid role based in Indiana, PA. This role is responsible for maintaining general ledgers, posting journal entries, and reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis. The Staff Accountant prepares financial statements, assists with month-end and year-end closings, and supports budgeting and forecasting activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, verifying and recording financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. The role also involves supporting audits, preparing documentation for tax filings, responding to internal and external inquiries, and collaborating with team members to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily transaction processing.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; ability to work with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Solid understanding of basic GAAP principles and familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
