Packer

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Finishing Manager, the Gluing Machine Packers is responsible for filling shipping cases with product and ensure that product codes and labels match and case count is correct.

Responsibilities include: - All Shifts

• Pull 5 samples every 15 minutes for QC inspection.
• Ensure proper fiber tear from glue product.
• Make sure no pressure marks or scratches are on the cartons.
• Check to be sure creases are pre-broken properly.
• Ensure the shipping case is filled properly and case count is correct.
• Make sure the glue is applied properly and is not causing the carton to stick shut.
• Adhere to all ISO / SQF / HACCP personnel GMP practices, conduct and safety policies.
  
  
  

Position Coverage:

In the absence of Gluing Machine Packer due to illness, vacation, appointments or injury, the Finishing Lead will assign an alternate Packer to perform the above listed position responsibilities.

Requirements:

• 1 -2 years manufacturing experience (or equivalent)
• Prior experience as a packaging designer in a folding carton environment highly desirable. Preference given to candidates with experience in printing or folding carton industry
• Hand, eye dexterity and coordination
• Ability to work standing for 8 hours.
• Accurate measurement and math skills
• Attention to detail
• Good time management skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with various levels of employees up and down the chain of command
• Ability to work well with minimum supervision – self-motivated and project driven
