What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Vidosh North?
The Controller will play a key leadership role in overseeing all accounting and financial operations for our growing landscaping company. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing timely financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. The Controller will provide financial insight and analysis to guide strategic business decisions, support operational leaders with job costing and profitability analysis, and continuously improve accounting systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
This position will report to the General Manager/Owner and will serve as a member of the company’s leadership team, actively contributing to the development of strategic priorities, standard operating procedures, and business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to balance day-to-day accounting responsibilities with forward-thinking financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Will direct all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Will prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Will develop, monitor, and manage budgets and cash flow projections.
- Will ensure compliance with tax, audit, and reporting requirements.
- Will work with management to analyze job costing, profitability, and division-level financial performance.
- Will design and maintain internal controls, financial systems, and accounting policies.
- Will lead, coach, and develop the accounting team.
- Will partner with the GM and division leaders to improve processes and financial outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including management of accounting staff.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with payroll, A/R, A/P, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting/reporting systems (LMN experience a plus).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance independent work with collaborative leadership.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
