Position Type: Part-Time
Compensation: Seasonal stipend, based on experience and qualifications
Hours: Up to 8–10 hours per week (seasonal, May–July with planning beginning Spring 2026)
Season Timeline:
- May: Player identification, recruiting, & preseason
- June–July: CASA MPL Regular Season & Playoffs
Reports To: Sporting Director
About The Position
The U23 Head Coach is responsible for leading all on-field activities for the team during the summer season. This role emphasizes player development, team organization, and alignment with the club’s overall philosophy.
This position is ideal for a coach who is motivated to work with college-aged players, build a competitive environment, and contribute to a growing club structure.
Requirements
- Hold a USSF Grassroots License (minimum) or be actively working toward obtaining one
- Experience coaching youth, high school, collegiate, or amateur players
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to create a positive and competitive team environment
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
- Basic experience in player identification and evaluation
Preferred Qualifications
- USSF Grassroots License (minimum)
- Experience working with college-aged players
- Familiarity with the Greater Philadelphia soccer landscape
- Interest in long-term involvement within the club
Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-field activities for the U23 team
- Plan and lead training sessions throughout the season
- Coach all matches (regular season and playoffs)
- Identify, recruit, and evaluate players for the roster
- Collaborate with the Sporting Director on roster decisions and player pathways
- Support alignment between U23 and senior team playing styles
- Foster a positive, competitive, and development-focused team culture
- Communicate clearly with players regarding expectations, roles, and performance
