What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Coach position at Chick-fil-A?
Head Coaches are responsible for supervising the daily operations of a quick-service restaurant ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation while on duty including production, preparation, customer relations, inventory management, team management, financial accountability, quality of products and services, etc.. Head Coaches are required to open/close the restaurant, following proper procedures. Head Coaches oversee a bucket of the business (ex. Drive-Thru, Marketing, Food Safety, etc.) that they will be held responsible for at all times. A person in this position can work Front of the House or Back of the House and must:
- Develop SMART goals and plans of action to achieve those goals for their bucket
- Communicate effectively with bucket members, keeping them engaged
- Track the progress of their bucket consistently
- Achieve SMART goals set forth for their bucket
- Ensure all employees follow recipes and read tickets to accurately prepare all orders
- Ensure all employees work at a pace to maintain established speed of service guidelines
- Execute proper security, cash handling, and control procedures
- Ensure all employees are following all cash handling procedures
- Ensure all employees are following all food safety requirements
- Monitor overall facility cleanliness
- Handle complex guest issues that may arise
- Maintain a positive work environment and positive work relationships
- Treat all employees with respect while providing them with direction and feedback
- Handle employee performance issues and policy/procedure violations
- Strictly adhere to all company policies and procedures and hold all employees accountable for following all policies and procedures
